What makes your life Fulfilling?

The art of fulfilment is the ability to experience not only the thrill of the chase but also the magic of the moment, the unbridled joy of feeling truely alive

~ Tony Robbins

I’ve always wondered what it takes for one’s life to feel and be fulfilled. Is it money? Is it fame or popularity? Is it in one’s career? Is it with family or friends? Or does it mean to be with the one you love?

The act of fulfilment is the process of leading a meaningful life in which one strives to achieve things that are important to them or that they may be passionate about. It generally results from acting in ways that move an individual closer to what they value, as well as achieving goals that are guided by those values.

What is a Fulfilled Life?

A fulfilled existence is frequently described as being totally alive, full of purpose and contentment, demanding vision and intense connection, extremely meaningful and sought after by all. It could involve questions like "why am I here?" It's also been described as ill-defined and difficult to attain.

The following are some suggested guidelines for living a "fulfilled life": always striving for righteousness, maturing to make a distinction between wants and needs, being able to adapt, being willing to pay the full price of fulfilment, believing in yourself, growing closer to God, counting blessings instead of problems, developing self-confidence, doing what you enjoy, establishing joy-producing habits, finding happiness in small things, finishing what you start, etc.

Fulfilment for Me

Fulfilment to me means to have enjoyed being in a certain place at a certain time of day, like watching the sunset from the beach as a breath of fresh air. Fulfilment for me means to travel whether it’s on my own or with another, my biggest dream is to own a caravan and just travel anywhere at any point in time, or even just to have enough money to take a one week break every month to fly to another country.

It may seem a little odd but I also feel most fulfilled when I have a very productive day and get everything completed with no distractions, it gives me a sense of peace and comfort.

I also find means of fulfilment in work, such as when I find people appreciative of the support and knowledge I share with them at my workplace, it really makes me feel more valued as a person. I love it when I can make people smile during bad work days or even when I can help people get out of a tough situation at work.

But something that brings me the most fulfilment is family, friends and spending time with the people I love. It brings me so much joy and happiness to have quality time with my friends and family.

How can you find fulfilment in your day to day life?

According to Robert Waldinger, the emotional, physical, and mental quality of our lives is directly proportionate to the quality of our relationships. However, there is a catch. If there's one thing we've all learned, it's that knowing a lot of people isn't enough.

Genuine connection is one of the most efficient ways to establish that connection in relationships, and one of the most efficient ways to form that connection is to practise what we call Positive Alacrity at Mindmaven, which we define as producing micro-experiences that induce emotional uplift in others.

Being more fulfilled in life means to be in control of your personal life story, to allow for some change in your day to day routine, and to really find your purpose in this life.
